The Government of Pakistan greatly values the role of high level manpower in national development and is pursuing a considered policy to encourage their contribution in various fields of national development. The National Talent Pool was therfore established in the Ministry of Professional and Technical Training and has been assigned the responsibility to perform specific assignments which are as under:
       
  1. Data Collection of High Level Manpower in Pakistan.  
   
   
   
Collection of data on prescribed Personal History Ststement Form (NTP-VII).
   
Supply of data to user organization including Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) for employment .
       
  2. President's Programme for the Care of Highly Qualified Overseas Pakistanis (PPQP)
   
   
   
Establish an interactive web based data bank of highly qualified professional Pakistanis based abroad and in Pakistan and deficient areas/sectoral needs of the country for their services by continued provision of on-line registration facility to highly qualified persons and submission of demand/sectoral needs of institutions within the country.
         
   
Create a system in which expatriate Pakistan experts can make effective contribution to various institutions in Pakistan through short to long term technical assistance for economic development of the country.
         
    Reduce the impact of brain drain through short to long term duration visits of Expatriate Nationals to Pakistan.
       
    Avail the benefit from the advice of the professionals while they are abroad through correspondence and supply of pertinent technical literature.
         
The initiative taken by the National Talent Pool provides opportunity to highly qualified manpower either in the country or abroad to extend their coorperation for the programmes of national development.
